If you have a business blog then it is likely that you might have experienced a certain level of frustration. Many companies set up a blog on their business’ website because they have heard how this can boost their search engine optimization efforts, offer more value to customers and expand brand awareness. While a business blog can provide all of these benefits, it does not always yield the expected results. Understanding how to make more impact with your business blog can help you to experience the benefits you might currently be lacking.

Post more content

Studies have found that simply updating your blog more regularly can help you to increase your readership. This is because search engines prioritize sites that regularly have fresh, new content. You should aim to update your blog at least two times a week.

Write eye-catching titles

The titles and featured snippets are almost as important as the blog post itself when it comes to boosting the readership and attention on your blog. This is because it is the title that captures a potential reader’s attention.

The featured snippet, which is the text that is visible under the article title on a search engine is also very important. Make sure that your title and featured snippet are engaging, relevant and interesting to increase click through to your business blog.

Increase language options

Posting content in a number of different languages can help you to diversify your offering and expand your reach. Posting articles in different languages allows you to attract relevant readers and customers from around the world.

When you are posting content in different languages it is not enough to simply copy and paste in Google Translate. Smartling explains that you should use dedicated translation and localization software to ensure the quality or tone of the content is not reduced in the translation process.

Add in photos

If you are not already posting content with images in it then you should start doing this as soon as possible. Adding images in your written content helps break down big blocks of text, making your article much more visually appealing. Images, specifically the ALT Image text on the photo can also help with search engine optimization.

It is important to remember when adding photos to your blog, that you should only use copy-right free images. If you use an image without checking, you are at risk of violating copyright laws, which search engines will penalize you for. You should also make sure to compress image size before uploading it, so it does not impact a page’s loading speed.

Include links

When you mention a product, a fact, a concept or anything else you should include a link back to a relevant site. This will help you to add more value to your reader, as they can easily find out more. Including links in your content can also help you to boost your search engine ranking. Remember to only link back to sites that are not your competition.
