Small business owners: Take a day and relax

Karen Utgoff, my colleague and friend, gave me an idea for today. Write about the value of taking time to relax and replenish and then take that advice.

Both she and I are, in fact, small business owners. If you are like us, every day you have a list of what has to happen and you diligently work through that list. Often more gets added during the day; perhaps a customer calls with an urgent request or maybe a key employee calls in sick. It’s as if you are trying to drain a bathtub with the water running full blast. Seldom, if ever, does our own well being hit the top of the list.

Well, today is that day for me. So no small business advice, just my sincere wishes for a happy holiday and a suggestion to take a day for yourself!
