Streamline your website style as a solopreneur

By Henry Brown

What is the first thing your potential client or customer sees when they discover you online? Ninety-nine percent of the time it will be your website. Creating a slick and smooth website comes easily to many solopreneurs, but have you refined all of the necessary details? You wouldn’t let your marketing strategy become outdated, so why would you do this to your website? Even if you think you have completed it, there will always be work to do! Consider the following streamlining tips that will help you convert website visitors into sure-fire clients.

Think sleek and slick

Nowadays busy, jam-packed websites simply don’t convert. Visitors become overwhelmed with information and they don’t have the time (or the patience) to go looking for the checkout page. This can really hinder your sales and site conversion rates. Consider a web design company, who can help you gain clarity on your target audience and help you implement design elements that will actually make your customers feel intrigued.

Use clear and concise language

It is so important to have clear calls to action on your website; people are lazy, they don’t want to figure things out for themselves, so you need to tell them. If you want them to book a consultation call with you, tell them! If you want them to read your latest blog post, tell them! If they aren’t told exactly what to do and where to go, they just won’t do it. Having plenty of buttons throughout your webpage with direct links can be a huge help when it comes to turning visitors into clients.

Choose a theme and stick to it

Try not to indulge in too many different fonts and colors. It can be extremely distracting if these colors don’t complement each other, too. Stick with a theme that is completely on brand with your company, and don’t try to copy anybody else’s website style either. Do you research and find out what your ideal client would love to see.

Optimize your site and write blogs

If you aren’t running a blog in the year 2020, then you need to get started right now! Contributing to your business blog on a regular basis can only help your business to succeed. Not only does it add value to your website, but popular search engines will start to see you as a credible source of information. If you struggle with writing or content creation, you could always outsource this to guest bloggers or professional copywriters. Even as a solopreneur, you need to ask for help in some areas, otherwise you will burn out completely.

Now it’s your job to do a complete audit of your business website. Go over all of the elements you already have in place and make them even better. You may need to alter your website copy or you could switch up your theme to make it more consistent. If you put these ideas into practice you will most certainly have a website that is a customer-converting machine.
