There are quite a few companies that tell you that Instagram is important to your business. In many cases, they’ll fail to highlight why this is the case. As a result, a lot of people can end up feeling like it isn’t true.

If you’re in that camp, then you might want to know a little more about exactly why it matters for your company. That means that you’ll have no reason not to make sure that you have the right Instagram profile picture size, images ready to use, and some time to put into the platform.

You can reach a lot of people

There are hundreds of millions of people on Instagram. Not all of them are on other social media platforms. That’s quite a few potential customers. While not all of them will fit your customer profile, many of them will.

The easiest way to reach these people is through the use of hashtags, which has become the platform’s way of categorizing content. Naturally, only certain hashtags will apply to your industry and area, but they can be a perfect way to grow brand awareness.

As an entrepreneur, you’ll know how valuable this awareness can grow, especially among customers who actively seek out these accounts. As people on the platform will have to manually search for any hashtag, they’ll be looking specifically for accounts related to it.

You wouldn’t want to miss out on this.

Get feedback quickly

The best people to ask about your products or services are your customers, who can provide valuable feedback.. Thankfully, there are several ways of doing so, with in-person being recommended. That’ll only give you small-scale feedback, however.

With Instagram, you can reach a much wider audience, which could lead to much more feedback. Even better, this may be ongoing, as you’ll hear from your followers constantly. Knowing what does and doesn’t work among your audience is a great way to plan ahead with future products and services.

You shouldn’t have to put much effort into this, with many followers offering their opinions unwarranted.

You can keep an eye on competitors

There’s a decent chance that you mightn’t be using Instagram as a marketing platform yet. That doesn’t mean that your direct competitors aren’t, however. If you’re also on it, then you can keep an eye on what they post.

Are there certain types of content that their followers – who could be your potential customers – interact with a lot? If there is, then you can adapt that to your strategy. You can do this to find a few tips for marketing on Instagram.

Like any other marketing method, Instagram should only form part of your strategy. As an entrepreneur or solo business owner, you mightn’t have the time to cover everything. That means focusing on a few areas and doing them well.

With how many of your potential customers that could be on the platform, it deserves a certain amount of focus. Each of the above reasons highlights why. What’s stopping you from taking advantage of it?
