4 ways to market to your customers for free as a small business

By Emma Sturgis

When you’re working hard to build your small business, you might not have the needed budget to spend a lot on advertising. There’s no need to worry about this because there are plenty of ways to market your small business for free these days. You can start paid ads after these free methods increase your revenue numbers.

Use social media

Social media is one of the biggest and best marketing tools for small business owners. Choose the social media channels you want to use and work toward dominating them. You should consider Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn when you start using social media.

Create a Facebook business page and start posting engaging content. You can use information that highlights employees so that your prospects feel a deeper connection to you and your company. Post special deals your company is offering at any given time. Talk about company culture and offer general tips your customers will love learning.

Instagram users are known to earn more money than Twitter or Facebook users. This makes Instagram a great platform for finding people with the money to afford your products. Use excellent images that grab attention. You can see who engages with your posts so be sure to make contact with them.

Twitter is great for little bite-sized tips, promos and company information. Don’t forget about LinkedIn. Build a great company profile, join groups and interact with potential customers.

Start a blog

A blog allows you to post excellent content that connects with your prospects and customers.

Create educational blog posts that engage and encourage readers to click through to your product solutions. If you bring up problems that your products solve, then it will be natural for readers to click over to purchase the solution from you. You can also add a text message system for business on your blog that allows visitors to text their questions over to you or allow them a place to subscribe to getting promotional texts from you.

Make use of video

Start a YouTube channel and engage your customers with video content, such as testimonials, product demos, or employee introductions. YouTube is one of the most popular social media platforms and can be a great way to promote your business to a new customer base. It can capture the attention of your audience better and provide an entertaining form of marketing.

Join online communities

There are online communities inside your niche that you can join and contribute to. Get active and answer the questions you see posted. As you do, you’ll become known as someone who is helpful. Over time, people will reach out to you and that’s the perfect time to let them know about your product solutions.

Decide which one of these tips to start using and then get to work building that tactic out. Using a combination of the above marketing techniques can bring even more results too. There’s no need to spend a lot of money on marketing when excellent free methods exist.
